Gomeroi artist Caitlin Trindall creates art inspired by her own life experiences. She uses traditional symbols to share stories and messages within the artwork, and pairs these with bright vibrant colours to create a modern feel. She is the mind behind Mirii Art and continues to develop her own distinctive digital style.
Currently travelling across Country in her van with her family, she is building memories of a lifetime. She celebrates and honours Country with her blend of traditional and contemporary artworks, bringing First Nations Culture into new spaces. During her exploring, she balances being a mum, an artist, and a business owner with true grace.
“This artwork was created to honour our journey through life. It is split into 3 main sections, each representing the past, present and future. The bottom section represents the past, with each bubble symbolising a different phase of our life that has led us to where we are today. The top section is a representation of the present, with three linked meeting places, showing our interconnections to other people and places through life.
The middle section of this artwork represents our future, with our spirits journey to the skies, alongside a series of stars in the Milky Way.”
