I enjoy being creative and have a passion for digital art, sketching and photography. Inspired by my older sister and her creative art journey from an early age, during COVID I started to do my art digitally. This has been something I’ve enjoyed as it has allowed me to unearth my creativity further.
I would describe myself as an animal person which is seen in my art of contemporary combinations of native Australian animals and Aboriginal art styles. I'm inspired by the diverse and uniqueness of Australian animals which can only be found on this country. And I'm inspired by Aboriginal kinship totems which connect our people on a spiritual level to our mob, our country and our dreaming. Totems define our people’s roles and responsibilities and our relationships with each other. It represents our responsibility to care for our totems and caring for the country they belong to. It’s about connectedness and belonging with each other, our families, our country, our ancestors, our dreamtime and all living things.

Bitja Mulana (Fire Spirit)
NAIDOC Week 2024
Bitja Mulana means “fire spirit” in Yorta Yorta language and represents the strong voice of our people and communities in the continuing journey of fighting for injustices and self-determination. The strength and respect we must show to all and the unity and solidarity of the broader community to come together with First Nations people with a united voice, standing for truth and change. It represents an unapologetic proudness of who we are, where we come and the journeys we and our ancestors have taken. To be proud of our blakness, to stand tall and strong and to continue to dedicate ourselves to striving for better futures for our younger generations.
