The 2026 NAIDOC Week theme marks a significant milestone, reflecting on five decades of NAIDOC Week and those who have shaped it. It is both a moment of reflection and a forward-looking statement about the momentum that continues into the next generation.
“Fifty Years of Deadly marks a milestone. It’s a tribute to the people who built this movement. the Elders who stood firm, the organisers who made space, the artists who turned resistance into expression, and the communities who keep showing up, year after year.” - NAIDOC Committee
Our NAIDOC Week 2026 logo features a community gathering symbol created by Wiradjuri artist Amy Kilby.
The centre of the logo represents community. It symbolises a meeting place where people come together to share, connect and support one another. This element reflects the heart of NAIDOC Week and the importance of coming together as one.
The surrounding dots represent people and communities connected through Country. They symbolise the many Nations across Australia and the strength found in unity.
The outward lines reflect songlines and pathways that travel across Country. They represent the movement of knowledge, culture and stories between communities and generations, reminding us that connection does not stop in one place.
The outer shapes symbolise energy, strength and continuity. They represent the ongoing spirit of culture and the way it continues to grow and radiate outward through family, community and Country.
Our 2026 collection was created in close collaboration with First Nations artists, sharing their stories in response to the theme ‘50 Years of Deadly’.
